A subset of our family is traveling to Ohio this weekend to join in praising the Lord for enabling Berean Bible Church to serve Him for 50 years. The theme of this anniversary celebration is “God’s grace yesterday, today, and forever.”
“Grace” is defined by the Strong’s as “the divine influence upon the heart and its reflection in the life; acceptable, benefit, favor, gift, joy, liberality, pleasure, gratitude.”
The nature of God’s grace is:
Fullness – John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Riches abounding – Eph 1:7-8 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence.
Exceedingly abundant – 1Tim 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
Constant sufficiency in all things – 2Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
These are just a sampling of verses that describe the abundant nature of God’s grace. Now, let’s apply these descriptions as we consider the privilege of coming before God’s throne of grace. Soulman’s Barbeque says that they are not stingy with their meat. Let’s never forget that God is not stingy with His grace, His amazing grace! So let’s come often before this throne!
