As many of you, we woke up early yesterday morning to the sound of strong rushing wind, pelting rain and hail, and thunder. The weather folks said we could have gusts up to 70 mph, and I believe they got it right. We looked out the back door and saw our trampoline being shaken by the wind like a rag doll. We were praying that it would not let loose and fly against a neighbor’s house. Thankfully, it remained attached to the anchors in the ground.
God’s Power:
We don’t have to look far to see God’s Power in creation. What we experienced yesterday was quite small in comparison to the many other displays of God’s power in creation. The Scriptures explain:
For I know that the LORD is great, And our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries. Psalm 135:5-7
This power of God meets us in our weakness and neediness. Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:8
God’s Provision:
God takes care of His creation:
He waters the hills from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works. He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth. Psalm 104:13-14
He is fully able to supply our needs: Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26
God’s Praise:
We clearly see the praise and glory of God in His creation:
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Psalm 19:1-3 I love walking in our neighborhood in the morning and seeing all the beautiful yellow flowers (these are considered as weeds) all “looking” directly at the sun, to gain the full benefits from its rays.
He created us to praise Him and glorify Him. HE IS WORTHY! This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.Isaiah 43:21
May we be constantly gazing at Him and being encouraged as we view His creation! Here is a website that details many verses about creation in the Psalms. Enjoy! https://top-bibleverses.com/psalms-about-creation/
