Paul the apostle wrote to the Corinthian church in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4:
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
This weekend at Rockwall Bible Church we will be remembering together the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ along with churches from around the world. There will be a service on Good Friday at 7 pm when we especially remember the death of our Lord, including observance of the Lord’s Table. Then on Sunday we will begin our celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead with a sunrise service at 7:15 am. Following the service, all are invited to a breakfast fellowship in the gym. Sunday School for all ages follows at 9:30, and then our regular morning worship service at 10:30 am. The adult and youth choirs will be doing special numbers at the services. Invite your friends and neighbors to join us for any or all of the events.
The work of Christ in His passion ministry was of first importance to Paul; and I trust it is of first importance to all who call on His great name. Let us not take for granted the freedom we still have in our country to worship without fear and to share the gospel message in the power of the Holy Spirit in our Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth (Acts 1:8).
